How to See and View Your Turnitin Report on Moodle (Students)
On Moodle, where your Turnitin report appears depends on which kind of assignment your lecturer created: a standard Moodle assignment with Turnitin switched on, or a dedicated Turnitin assignment. Both take under a minute to check.
Type 1: Moodle assignment with Turnitin enabled
This is the most common setup. The assignment page looks like any other Moodle assignment.
- Open your course and click the assignment.
- Scroll to the Submission status table.
- Next to your uploaded file you will see a Turnitin similarity percentage, often with a coloured box.
- Click the percentage. The report opens in Turnitin in a new tab.
Type 2: Turnitin assignment
This assignment has the Turnitin logo and its own submission page.
- Open your course and click the Turnitin assignment.
- Open the My Submissions tab if it is not already showing.
- Find the Similarity column beside your paper.
- Click the percentage to open the report.
Turnitin report not showing on Moodle?

Checking a draft on Moodle
Some lecturers allow resubmission until the deadline, or create a separate draft assignment set to "No Repository" so your draft does not match your final submission. If neither is offered, a pre-submission check lets you see both your similarity and AI reports before uploading to Moodle.

Frequently asked questions
Where is the Turnitin score in Moodle?
On a Moodle assignment it appears beside your submitted file in the Submission status table. On a Turnitin assignment it appears in the Similarity column of your submissions table.
Why can't I see my Turnitin report on Moodle?
Your lecturer controls whether students can view reports. It may also still be processing or set to appear after the due date.
Can I submit a draft on Moodle to check my score?
Only if your lecturer allows resubmissions or set up a draft assignment.
