Turnitin AI Report Checker in Poland: Check Before You Submit
Poland has its own national system for checking theses: the Jednolity System Antyplagiatowy (JSA). Since 2019 every diploma thesis must be verified, and in February 2024 the JSA added a feature that estimates whether a thesis was likely written with AI. Turnitin matters for a different group: students and researchers writing in English.
JSA and AI detection
- Developed by the National Information Processing Institute (OPI).
- Mandatory verification of all diploma theses since 2019.
- AI estimate added in February 2024. It gives a probability, not a certainty, and the supervisor (promotor) makes the final decision.
Where Turnitin fits
Polish is not supported by Turnitin's AI detector, but English is. Students in English-taught degrees, double-degree programmes with foreign universities, and researchers submitting to international journals may be checked with Turnitin rather than, or as well as, the JSA.
Who in Poland should check first
- Students in English-taught programmes in Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw and Poznan.
- Double-degree students with UK, Irish or other partner universities.
- Doctoral candidates and researchers publishing in English.
