How to Check a Turnitin Report With a Submission ID
Short answer: you cannot open a Turnitin report just by typing its submission ID into a website. Turnitin has no public lookup page. The ID identifies your submission, and you open the report from the assignment you submitted to, or from the account that ordered it. Here is what the ID is, where to find it, and how to get to your report.
What the Turnitin submission ID is
Every submission gets a unique number, also called the paper ID. In newer reports it appears in a format like trn:oid:::1:3520544343, as on the cover page of our sample below. It proves which file was submitted and when.
Where to find your submission ID
- Digital receipt: download it from the confirmation shown after submitting, or later from the assignment.
- Inside the report: in Feedback Studio, click the i (Submission Information) icon.
- Downloaded report: on the cover page and in the header of every page.
How to access your report with the ID

Beware of "check by ID" sites
Sites that promise to show any Turnitin report if you enter an ID cannot access Turnitin's systems. At best they show nothing useful; at worst they collect your details. Use the ID to verify a report, not to retrieve one.
How to verify a report using its ID
- Check that the ID on the cover page matches the ID in every page header.
- Compare the file name, word count and submission date with your document.
- If you are given a report by someone else, ask for the digital receipt; its ID should match.
